Tradition
ECA welcomes you to one of the most unique events in the world. This is the Great American Rendezvous, “Only in the U.S.A., still the Shining Light of Freedom.”
Over 235 years ago, a few good men created a nation that is thousands of years ahead of its time. Nowhere else on this planet are these principals of freedom and free enterprise enjoyed more, than here at this show.
We offer the collector, the trader, the sportsman, the hunter, the novice the opportunity to BUY – SELL – TRADE with their peers.
All gun sales, trades and transactions require background checks (no different than at gun shops). This applies to individuals as well as dealers. ECA will handle the call-in, paperwork and delivery for $10.00. Unfortunately because there is a criminal element in our society, background checks are essential in making sure firearms do no fall into the wrong hands. The Illinois State Police do a great job of handling background checks & your approval is back in a matter of minutes.
Illinois residents must have a valid FOID card in order to possess, sell and/or purchase guns or ammo. There is a 24 hour wait on the delivery of long guns and a 72 hour wait on the delivery of handguns. This law applies to all Illinois residents.
Residents of contingent states must show a valid state ID in order to purchase guns and ammo. When purchasing a long gun, the Illinois State Police will do a background check and upon approval, the buyer may take the long gun with them. When purchasing a handgun, after Illinois State Police approval, the handgun must be shipped to a dealer in your state.
We hope this clarifies these laws, rules and regulations. If you have additional questions ask any of the ECA dealers. When you go to an ECA show, you become a part of it and the cost of admission is small price to pay compared to other types of entertainment where you only sit and watch. With so many dealers all in one place, (set up side by side – competing for your business) you save $$$$ looking for that great deal you came for. At ECA shows you are not dealing with an hourly clerk. You are dealing with the owner of his/her own business – the best Americans of all!! The best people in the world pass through our doors – that includes you!
